1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to FUNOM websites, customer portals, ordering systems, support channels, APIs, and infrastructure services that link to or reference this Policy. It does not govern third-party websites or services that operate under their own privacy notices. Where a customer uses a FUNOM server to process information belonging to other people, that customer remains responsible for providing any required notices and establishing an appropriate legal basis for that processing.
2. Information We Collect
Account and identity information. We may collect your name, company name, email address, telephone number, postal address, billing details, preferred language, account identifiers, and verification information. We collect this information when you register, place an order, update your profile, request support, or complete an identity or fraud review.
Order and service information. We process product selections, service configurations, billing cycles, invoices, transaction references, account credit, renewal preferences, domain registration details, support tickets, and the operational status of services assigned to your account.
Technical and usage information. Our systems may record IP addresses, login times, session identifiers, browser type, device type, operating system, language, referring page, requested URLs, response codes, security events, API activity, performance measurements, and diagnostic logs. For VPS and server services, we may process limited infrastructure metadata such as resource allocation, power state, monitoring heartbeat, network usage, and abuse indicators.
Communications. We retain messages submitted through tickets, contact forms, email, or other official support channels, together with attachments and the actions taken to resolve your request. Please do not send passwords, private keys, one-time passwords, full payment credentials, or other secrets unless an authorized FUNOM procedure explicitly requires a secure method.
3. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by banks, payment gateways, card networks, digital wallet providers, or merchant-of-record services. FUNOM receives only the information required to identify, reconcile, refund, and support a transaction, such as its status, amount, currency, payer reference, and limited fraud signals. Sensitive card or online-banking credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider under its own security and privacy terms and are not intentionally stored by FUNOM.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify customers and payments; process orders; provision, operate, suspend, renew, and terminate services; issue invoices; provide technical and billing support; communicate service incidents; and maintain accurate business records. We also use information to detect fraud, spam, malware, unauthorized access, attacks, sanctions risks, and violations of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use requirements.
We may analyze aggregated or de-identified information to improve capacity planning, reliability, product design, and customer experience. FUNOM does not sell or rent customer personal information and does not exchange it with third parties for their independent advertising purposes.
5. Legal Bases and Legitimate Purposes
Depending on the applicable law and context, processing is based on performance of a contract, steps requested before entering a contract, compliance with legal obligations, protection of FUNOM and its users, legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, or consent where consent is required. You may withdraw consent for optional processing at any time, without affecting processing already completed or processing supported by another lawful basis.
6. How We Share Information
We disclose only the information reasonably necessary to trusted providers that help us deliver services, including data centers, upstream VPS providers, network operators, domain registrars and registries, certificate authorities, payment processors, email delivery providers, monitoring platforms, anti-fraud services, accountants, and professional advisers. These parties may process information only for the relevant service, security, legal, or contractual purpose.
We may disclose information when required by a valid legal process, to protect rights and safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of business assets subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We do not disclose another customer's information to you and do not permit customers to access administrative or confidential records.
7. Data Security
FUNOM uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, role-based permissions, transport encryption where appropriate, security logging, monitoring, backups for operational systems, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures. No Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers must use strong unique passwords, enable additional authentication where available, protect API keys, restrict administrator access, update server software, and notify FUNOM promptly of suspected compromise.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide services, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and comply with tax, accounting, domain registration, and other legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and jurisdiction. When retention is no longer justified, information is deleted, anonymized, or isolated in accordance with our procedures.
Data stored inside a customer-controlled VPS or hosting account may be deleted after cancellation, termination, or expiration. Customers are responsible for maintaining independent backups and exporting data before a service ends. Closing an account does not require FUNOM to delete records that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or financial purposes.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on your personal information; object to certain processing; request a portable copy where available; or withdraw consent for optional processing. You can update common profile information in the customer area. For other requests, submit a ticket from the affected account or use the official contact page.
We may verify your identity and authority before acting on a request. A request may be limited where disclosure would compromise security, reveal another person's information, interfere with fraud prevention, or conflict with a legal retention requirement. We will explain material limitations when permitted to do so.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
FUNOM uses essential cookies and similar storage technologies for login sessions, shopping carts, language preferences, security, fraud prevention, and website operation. Optional analytics technologies may be used in accordance with the Cookie Policy and applicable consent settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, checkout, support, or account-management features from functioning.
11. International Processing and Minors
Infrastructure providers may process information in countries different from your country of residence. Where required, FUNOM uses contractual or other lawful safeguards for cross-border processing. Our commercial infrastructure services are not directed to children who cannot legally enter a service agreement. A parent, guardian, or authorized organization must manage any account used for a minor where permitted by law.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in services, technology, providers, or law. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the customer area or email where appropriate.
For privacy questions or requests, contact FUNOM through the official contact page or submit a support ticket from your customer account. Using an authenticated ticket helps us verify ownership and protect your information.
